Transportation Careers: A Resource for Teachers is an initiative building stemming from a Career Cluster partnership with the US Department of Transportation (USDOT). Currently the USDOT is partnering with the National Association of State Directors of Career and Technical Education (CTE) to develop carreers in transportation curriculum materials.

The project's purpose is to develop transportation industry curriculum to expose students grades 6-12 to skills, and concepts necessary to be successful in the transportation industry. The materials - including the transportation cluster foundation, related pathway standards, and appropriate academic standards, are designed to address a growing need of educating students who may seek a job in the transportation industry. These resources may be utilized by educators to expand, enhance and reinforce academic content in an attempt to increase student knowledge and skills of transportation with a goal of higher academic achievement.

Universities, Departments of Career and Technical Education (CTE), Departments of Transportation and businesses from across the nation are collaborating on this project to build on accomplishments of the National Career Cluster Intiative.
