Aviation Education Initiative wins NARC Achievement Award
August 2, 2013
The North Texas Aviation Education Initiative was initiated by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) from a widely recognized need for additional aviation workforce regionally and nationally. Since completion of the formal study in 2010, NCTCOG staff has worked with regional educators to promote and facilitate aviation programs in North Central Texas.

The National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) presented its 2013 General Achievement and Leadership Awards at its 47th Annual Conference and Exhibition, in Philadelphia, PA on June 26, 2013.

“We are excited to present our annual awards, which recognize regional excellence and successful programs across the country,” said NARC President Penny Gross, Supervisor, Fairfax County, VA. “These awards represent a fraction of the important work of our members. We thank our award nominees and winners alike for their dedication to regionalism and look forward to showcasing these and many other leaders and programs.”

NARC General Achievement Awards recognize excellence in programs and service of regional councils and metropolitan planning organizations. The 2013 Achievement Award winners are:

Major Metro: North Central Texas Council of Governments, Aviation Education Initiative
