Q: What does McKinney ISD seek to accomplish in the 2014 school year?

A: We’re currently rezoning our high schools, with the goal of utilizing our facilities as efficiently as possible and planning for future growth in McKinney ISD. We’re excited about the completion of a $35-million addition/renovation to McKinney High School in 2014.

In the coming year, we’ll be focusing on expanding our corporate and local business partnerships. We’re excited about the expansion of many of our career and technical education programs. For example, our aviation program recently received state and national attention for being the only program in North Texas with an approved flight simulator for students to log flight-training miles. Over 200 students participated in the program this year and that number is expected to grow with our enhanced partnership with the McKinney National Airport
