Most students follow the industry lead and get both the airframe and powerplant certificates. Both the Airframe and Powerplant can be finished in six semesters (two years).

About the Program

At Texas State Technical College, you’ll get the hands-on experience you need to become a top-notch professional in the field of aviation maintenance. This program is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration to provide the training necessary before testing for Airframe and Powerplant #FT8150Q (A&P) ratings. Through your studies and hand-on labs, you can prepare for testing to earn an Airframe and rating with training in electrical and hydraulic systems, sheet metal repair and much more.

Students will also have access to TSTC’s Aerospace Center with new terminal facility, air traffic control tower, campus airport and expanded programs.
