The ACE Academy is a weeklong program designed to expose youth to a wide variety of career opportunities in aviation. The goal is to provide an opportunity for students to receive hands-on experience in learning about the history of aerospace, the fundamentals of aerodynamics, the role of government in aviation, and the many careers available in the aviation industry. Throughout the program, students will experience field trips and get to meet aerospace professionals who are experts in their field. OBAP’s Maintenance ACE Academy builds on the concept of ACE by exposing students to the highly specialized field of aircraft maintenance. Students will receive an in-depth knowledge of aircraft systems and components including electronic navigation and communication systems. Students will also get an insight into the aircraft manufacturing and assembly process through a tour of an actual aircraft assembly facility.
