    Thunder Over East Texas 2025

    The Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation (CCVF) is hosting its inaugural Thunder Over East Texas Air Show on Friday, July 4, at the Athens Municipal Airport. This event promises exciting aerial displays and family-friendly fun, all supporting veterans. Headlining the show will be the USAF F-35 Demonstration Team, led by Capt. Melanie “MACH” Kluesner, and retired General Tommy Williams in the iconic "Bum Steer." Performances will include MiG-17s, NextGen Eagles, Jets, Warbirds, and notable acts like Randy Ball, Bill Culberson, and Mike Terfehr. Other highlights include “QUICKSILVER,” Christen Eagles, Falcon Flight Nine, B-25 “Devil Dog,” C-45 “Little Raider,” and SNJ “Texan.” Gates open at 3 p.m., with the air show starting at 6 p.m. Attendees can view planes up close and purchase plane rides before the show. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children (6-12), and free for kids under 5. Reserved seating is $50. Active military and veterans enter free with ID. Parking is $5 cash. Food trucks will be on-site. Tickets available online and at select Athens locations.
